I hope you enjoy spring time and the start of a new and great bike season! This is about a small contribution to one of the smallest but most stylish riders the world has seen. With the cooperation of pOcpac you have the chance to get a unique Lorraine Truong #mybrainmyrules edition phone bag and all the money will go directly to her. And the best part is: Every penny goes fully to Lorraine.
Lorraine Truong is a Swiss Enduro and DH rider, also known as „Pocket Rocket“. Lorraine Truong is a Swiss Enduro and DH rider, also known as „Pocket Rocket“. You probably know about her story. She had a big Crash at the Enduro World Series Race in Samoëns back in 2015 and has been suffering a brain injury ever since. She can’t work, cycle, and relies on a lot of support in daily Life. Lorraine is one of the most positive and motivated girls out there. Always up for a joke, some stupid ideas and a good laugh. For her it is really important to be sharing her experience, so that all you guys out there learn about traumatic brain injuries. So that we are all better protected and prepared to look after our brains.
For her it is really important to be sharing her experience, so that all you guys out there learn about traumatic brain injuries. Using the Hashtag #mybrainmyrules, she runs a Blog and tries to educate about the danger of traumatic brain traumas and makes sure we take better care of ourselves and our Heads.
Her recovery process has been like a big bike tour. A lot of ups and downs, positive moments but also gaps and rocks on the way, unexpected obstacles and difficult moments. But there is always one goal: The freedom of living a normal life. Obviously a life as „normal“ a Lorraine-Life can be… 😉
She says: „I keep deep down the will to ride again. I need the joy that being on a bike brings me. :)“ She needs the freedom and joy that riding a bike brings her. And surely everyone of us can fully understand that! At the moment it’s not a bike, that can give Lorraine her freedom back. It’s something different most people would have a rather negative connotation. A wheelchair.
„For most of us wheelchairs are disturbing. They mean illness, disabilities, problems and limitations. They represent our fear of a different world. And it is kind of normal. Few of us have been surrounded with them and we have been taught not to look. However, my chairs on wheels saved my life…by giving me Freedom!“ (Lorraine)
After I spent some time with this great little shredder girl in November in an indoor Skatepark in Zurich, I started to realize how important it is for Lorraine. To see the progress she does on the wheelchair is amazing. Spending time with her friends, enjoying sports and just having fun. Maybe even forgetting about the life changing injury for a small amount of time.
Here we are. At the reason for this charity. Lorraine needs a better wheelchair designed for real Sport. One with a frame made for shredding, suspensions, strong wheels and proper tires. Something young, wild and free. A wheelchair that is just like she is The cost for such a thing is about 5000 Euros. That’s a lot of money for a girl who hasn’t been able to work for more than 3 years, but is NOT A LOT diveded by every single one, if we all help together.
Please help us with a small contribution and get one of the #mybrainmyrules phone bags with the value of 20-24 Euros. The pOcpacs come in two sizes and they are super useful for all outdoor activities. Water and mud resistant, space for coffee stop money and you can still use the camera and the phone. Important for all you Instagram junkies out there;). And the best thing: every single Cent goes to Lorraine!!
Every Penny of a bag Sold goes straight to Lorraine. For this I would like to thank pOcpac and Rebekka Markert for the pOcpac Design!
With a lot of The Spirit Of Enduro!
